American high school students, especially learners of color, are faltering on reading and mathematics assessment exams. Boys, in general, are tuning out education. This generation has a lot to offer yet so much to loose. The digital generation has a plethora of tools at their fingertips to turn learning into an interactive oasis of activity. However, standardized education has not tapped the full potential of web 2.0 technologies and the interests of young people who utilize these technologies for personal entertainment and cyber-social activities. For the next couple of years, I will be investigating how to integrate VLE and IDOL into a transparent framework of 21st century learning in virtual 3D Space, a medium within the comfort zone of the digital youth generation. Please join me in this endeavor to make learning an extraordinary experience in knowledge exploration for our leaders of tomorrow.
