Vacation Ideas (Discussion)

I had an argument with friends lately… maybe somebody at LearnHub can help me settle this.

I’ve been thinking of taking a short vacation during the winter break. My conditions are simple- I need something that doesn’t cost much, doesn’t involve any major activities (I just want to sit and chill mostly), and has warmer weather than Toronto. But! I don’t want to go to a beach or any place that involves too much water. That’s sort of the big limit.

My friends told me that I’ll never be able to find a place like that which makes any sense as a vacation spot. Does anybody here know of any such magical place?

Help me out please!

What about going somewhere south but just staying inland? I would say the southern US would remain a Canadian’s most affordable getaway not involving a beach. You could go to Phoenix and enjoy the nice weather while being far away from the water. The grand canyon is nice in the winter months too and pretty nearby.

Thanks for the idea Dan! I found out I’ll actually have access to a car for a week during my break, so I just may take on a road trip South… sounds like fun.

Vancouver or Montreal would be nice places to “chill”. Those are great cosmopolitan areas where you will find lots of things to do.

If you’re going South, what places do you have in mind?
