The kind of art I hate are the generic paintings you see hanging in a lot of dentist or doctor offices. They usually have mellow geometric shapes in yellow, beige and brown. They don’t really mean anything or try to say anything about themselves. They’re just sort of there.
Generally I don’t like art that attempts to be a poor imitation of something else. Usually you can see right through it. If you’re going to steal, you should steal from a lot of different places. One of my favourite quotes by Einstein is “Creativity is knowing how to hide your sources.”
